Write a Letter - Heal Your Soul!
God Directs Forgiving Hearts
by Natacha Cann on January 19th, 2016

I received a prayer request from a woman who wants to reconcile with her two daughters, as well as her sister. She desires to write each of them a forgiveness letter. She prays that “God be the director of the letters” that she will write. Placing God at the head of her desire to forgive is the wise thing to do for two reasons.
First, because the bible tells us that while “we may plan our way, the Lord directs our steps” (Proverbs 16:9). This means that God is always in control. Second, it’s wise because we can’t change hearts and minds; only God can do that. The lesson is that we don’t have the final say on forgiveness and reconciliation. We should merely take the steps to forgive, or ask to be forgiven, and then get out of the way and let God do his work. He will change hearts and mend relationships in His time.
