Write a Letter - Heal Your Soul!
To Forgive or Not Forgive
by Natacha Cann on January 24th, 2017

If you are at a low, dark, or painful time in your life, you may also be at a crossroads. You may be grappling with whether or not you should “choose” to forgive the person who has caused your pain. Perhaps you feel that the person’s actions are inexcusable and they don’t deserve to be forgiven. Or, maybe you have forgiven that person before and you don’t feel you should forgive them again.
Whatever the reason may be, the basis of your choice to forgive is dependent upon the other person’s actions. This reasoning is misguided and it really corrupts the true purpose of forgiving, which is for “you to heal.” It is important to understand that when choosing whether to forgive or not forgive, you are really choosing whether to heal or continue hurting. It’s not about the other person, it’s about you.
So, always choose “you,” always choose to heal and always choose to forgive.
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”
Psalm 147:3
